Rise of the Runelords

Session 5 - Battle at the Glassworks
Saturday June 4th 2016

Game Time: from late afternoon to late night of Toilday 24th Rova 4707 AR.

Quick Summary
Our Heroes defeat many goblins in the Sandpoint Glassworks, but retreat when they face Tsuto Kaijitsu. Tsuto escapes into a tunnel beneath the Glassworks. Our Heroes are healed by Father Zantus, and debate their next move late into the night.

Detailed Summary
Kadar, Ryutaro and Claws with Lightning fight and kill several goblins as Quilmop and Pete run through the Glassworks throwing open doors and exploring. Just as Quilmop and Pete find another entrance to the main furnace room, the remaining goblins grow fearful and try to run away. Two are color sprayed by Quilmop and fall unconscious. A third runs down into the basement, yelling “ChutoChuto!”, pursued by Claws with Lightning and Ryutaro.

Quilmop and Kadar kill one unconscious goblin and tie the other in a sack. Kadar rushes off to the basement. Flexing his muscles, Quilmop maneuvers a tall ladder into hooks near the broken skylight, and sends Pete up the ladder with a potion for Aeryc. Aeryc is revived. Quilmop keeps the captured goblin busy by continually dazing him whilst he is tied up in the sack.

Meanwhile, Ryutaro and Claws dispatch the last goblin just as Kadar reaches the basement. A voice calls out “What’s all that racket?” and Kadar and Ryutaro are met by Tsuto Kaijitsu. Tsuto seems smug, and calls out in Goblin. When there is no reply (from what are presumably his minions) a fights ensues. Tsuto proves surprisingly strong and acrobatic, and Kadar and Ryutaro decide to retreat up the stairs. Tsuto pokes his head up the stairs to see where they’ve gone, but does not pursue them, and instead disappears below.

Father Zantus and some town guards are summoned. Father Zantus heals Our Heroes with magic and prayer. The guards are astonished and sickened by the grisly display of goblin violence. The goblins have butchered and mutliated the bodies of all the former employees in the Glassworks. The former owner, Lonjiku Kaijitsu, is also found dead in a chair, covered in rivulets of molten glass. It must have been a horrible way to die.

Our Heroes discuss their options. Aeryc sneaks down into the basement. He finds all the doors open. In one room he finds a scrap of paper with a nude drawing of a beautiful woman on it (who is not Ameiko), but otherwise the rooms just have supplies for glassmaking and so on. Aeryc also finds a long tunnel leading out from the basement and heading roughly northeast under Sandpoint. The tunnel shows marks of someone or something being dragged through it: Aeryc guesses that Tsuto has dragged Ameiko (or her body) away.

After a few hundred feet, the tunnel comes to a four way junction, with a tunnel heading off to east and west. The dragging marks continue to the northeast. Aeryc does not explore further, and instead retreats to confer with the rest of Our Heroes.

Members of the Carpenter’s Guild are summoned to build a hasty wooden barricade over the tunnel, so it will be obvious if someone tries to break though. Two guards are posted to keep watch over the tunnel at all times. Our Heroes repair to the Rusty Dragon to discuss their next move. Discussions run late into the night.

Aeryc (1121xp + 236xp) = 1357xp (Level Up! Ranger 1 Slayer 1)
Kadar (1071xp + 236xp) = 1307xp (Level Up! Druid 2)
Quilmop (1121xp + 236xp) = 1357xp (Level Up! Sorcerer 2)
Ryutaro (1101xp + 236xp) = 1337xp (Level Up! Samurai 2)

Session 4 - Trysts and Revelations
Sunday 22nd May 2016

Game Time: from late afternoon Moonday 23rd Rova 4707 AR (equivalent of late September) to late afternoon Toilday 24th Rova .

Quick Summary
Our Heroes meet Shalelu Andosana who tells them the goblins are probably being organized by someone. Our Heroes are deputized by Sheriff Belor Hemlock to look after Sandpoint while he goes to Magnimar to ask for extra guards.

That night, some of Our Heroes find unexpected romance. The next day, after learning more about places in town, looking for clues, and sorting out a minor goblin menace, they are asked by Bethana Corwin to help find Ameiko Kaijitsu, as she has gone missing. A note indicates that Ameiko was to meet her half-elven half-brother, Tsuto Kaijutsu at the Sandpoint Glassworks at midnight the previous night.

At the Glassworks, Our Heroes find goblins have savaged the workers and covered some in molten glass. Having climbed onto the roof, Aeryc Halftorn starts a fight, and shoots one of the goblins down before falling to goblins arrows and splashed molten glass. The rest of Our Heroes bust in through a window to join the fight.

Detailed Summary
An Offer of Employment
Sheriff Belor Hemlock finds Our Heroes and asks them to accompany them back to the Sandpoint Town Hall. There in a quiet upstairs room they meet Shalelu Andosana and Mayor Kendra Deverin.

Shalelu is an elven ranger who keeps an eye on goblins in the local area and brings reports back to the Sheriff and Mayor now and again. She brings word that goblins recently torched a farm to the south. She managed to drive them off and keep the farmers safe, but their activity has her worried. Some of the goblins raiding the farm has also raised Sandpoint during the Swallowtail Festival. It seems goblins from many different tribes participated in the raid on Sandpoint, and goblins don’t work well together unless a Big Boss is uniting them.

Sheriff Hemlock asks Our Heroes to keep Sandpoint safe for a few days while he rides to Magnimar to ask for more guards. He asks Our Heroes to see if they can try to keep morale up in the town, and perhaps make discreet inquiries to find out who helped the goblins in the raid. Meanwhile, Shalelu will scout the major goblin strongholds in the area, to see where the Big Boss is most likely to be hiding out. Mayor Deverin offers 100gp to Our Heroes for their help, and Our Heroes agree.

At the Rusty Dragon
Shalelu suggests they get a meal at the Rusty Dragon. She and Ameiko seem to be friends. Shalelu is a crude dinner guest, chewing much tobacco and spitting it on the floor. Kadar seems infatuated, and enthusiastically tries some tobacco when offered. Shalelu tells Our Heroes about some of the local goblin tribes and strongholds, and some of the local goblin heroes who might be good candidates to be the Big Boss who is organizing the local tribes.

During the meal, Lonjiku Kaijitsu, the elderly head of the Kaijitsu family, busts into the inn, bellowing for his daughter in Tien. When he sees Our Heroes, he is distracted and starts chewing them out for their supposed heroism. He spits at the feet of the “honorless ronin” Ryutaro, and suggests Our Heroes are responsible for making Sandpoint a more dangerous place. When Ameiko appears from the kitchen to see what the fuss is about, Lonjiku argues with her loudly in Tien, saying that he is heading to Magnimar, and she will come with him or be cut out of his will. Ameiko refuses to go, and Lonjiku grabs her by the hair. Our Heroes intervene, and Ameiko smacks her father round the head with a soup-filled ladle. Lonjiku leaves, his dignity in tatters. Ameiko restores a less tense atmosphere with a corny joke.

At the Hagfish
Shalelu suggests they all go out drinking and swap goblin-killing stories, and Our Heroes move over to the Hagfish. It is a busy night. There is a group of local Sandpoint women doing shots at the bar, and many rough looking laborers well into their cups. Much drinking ensues, with Kadar struggling to keep with Shalelu. Aeryc ducks out early to look for clues. Quilmop ducks out a bit later to track down Aldern Foxglove. Ryutaro keeps an eye on Kadar for a while, concerned that he cannot hold his liquor, but then leaves to look for Ameiko.

After the others have left, Kadar and Shalelu end up necking in a corner of the bar. When they are both staggering drunk, they stagger down to the beach and make love on the sand.

The Case of the Over-Friendly Noble
Meanwhile, Quilmop returns to the Rusty Dragon to chat with Aldern Foxglove. He tries several gambits to shake some clues loose, but to no avail. Aldern seems happy to have been thought of, and a little disappointed that Our Heroes (especially Kadar) did not seem to want to be friends. Quilmop does manage to learn where in town he can get less-than-legal supplies, at the Pillbug’s Pantry. The code phrase is “Have any happy pillbugs turned up lately?”

The Shopkeep’s Daughter
Meanwhile, Aeryc checks out the cathedral square to look for clues. He is followed by one of the young women from the Hagfish. She introduces herself as Shayliss Vinder, and says she needs his help. Her father, Ven Vinder, is distracted by her sister running about with a guy from the local lumber mill, and hasn’t had time to look after the shop properly. Meanwhile, there is a terrible rat problem in the shop. Shayliss was hoping the adventurous Aeryc could help her with this problem. Aeryc suspects an ulterior motive.

And there is indeed an ulterior motive. Shayliss shows Aeryc to the General Store, and down into the basement, where there is a shocking amount of liquor stored up and a convenient cot set up in one corner. There are no rats. Shayliss giggles, undresses and tries to coax Aeryc (who is still suspicious) into the cot. Apparently she wants to confirm a rumor that the heroes of the Swallowtail Festival have enormous weapons.

As it happens, Aeryc is wise to be a little suspicious. Soon he hears noises of someone upstairs. Shayliss’s father stomps down into the basement whilst Aeryc manages to hide behind some crates. Afterwards, when the father has left, Aeryc and Shayliss make love in the cramped basement. It seems several of Our Heroes are up all night to get lucky

Not Everyone Can Be Lucky At Once
… but not all of Our Heroes have such an adventurous night. Ryutaro returns to the Rusty Dragon to seek out Ameiko, but the maid, Bethana Corwin, says she hasn’t seen her this evening.

The Morning After
Shalelu departs to scout out goblin territory. Kadar is smitten, and hungover. He obtains a hangover cure from Sandpoint’s other alchemy store, Bottled Solutions, run by a nervous fellow named Nisk Tander who claps with enthusiasm as he talks.

Quilmop meets Aliver Podiker, proprietor of the Pillbug’s Pantry, and uses the code phrase. He is shown into a back room. He buys some cabbleweed from Podiker, makes friends, and asks Podiker if he knows anyone who could help him smuggle someone into town. Podiker says he’ll see what he can do.

Monster in the Closet
Our Heroes reconvene at the Rusty Dragon and are sought out by a distraught Sandpoint citizen. She is clasping one child to her and holding the other by the back of his shirt and spilling out a tale of a goblin hiding in their home. Her husband has tried going after it, and he has run to get help.

In the house, all is quiet. Our Heroes find the husband motionless, half his body stuck down a hole in the bottom of a closet of the older child’s bedroom. The drag the body out and find a hideous sight: his face and shoulders have been eaten away, surely the work of a nasty, hungry goblin.

Sure enough, a goblin bursts out from the hole he had scratched in the bottom of the closet. Kadar smashes him with his Earthbreaker. Our Heroes offer some consolation to the grieving widow. Quilmop offers her some coin, then decides to “take some change” from a dresser he sees. Kadar notices, and an argument ensues.

An Interrogation
Our Heroes take the unconscious goblin to the Sandpoint Barracks, where there is a jail in the basement. The jailer is a large Shoanti, which gets Kadar’s attention.

The goblin is tricked by Quilmop and Aeryc into giving up some information by feeding it cabbleweed and lies, but the information gained is not very helpful. Our Heroes learn that some longshanks who is male and who looks like Aeryc (so probably a half-elf) was leading the raid, and that there was a secret plan that no one knew because it was secret. Having learned what they can, Our Heroes dispatch the goblin.

The Sandpoint Irregulars
On the way out of the jail, one of Quilmop’s urchin employees from Turandarok Academy reports in. He followed Aldern Foxglove last night. Foxglove went to the Pillbug’s Pantry and came out with a packet of something. He went down to the beach, but then he threw the packet into the sea, and went back to the Rusty Dragon. The boy retrieved the packet and hands it over: some (soggy) cabbleweed. On returning to the Rusty Dragon, Our Heroes learn that Foxglove left town that morning. Quilmop theorizes that he has a cabbleweed problem and nearly gave into his cravings.

The Missing Bartender
In the afternoon, Our Heroes are approached by Bethana Corwin, a maid at the Rusty Dragon. She is worried because she can’t find Ameiko: she wasn’t in last night and didn’t turn up to start the breakfast service. Bethana waited, and then snuck into her room. There she found a scrumpled up note from Ameiko’s half-brother Tsuto. It seems they were to meet at midnight yesterday at the Sandpoint Glassworks.

Bethana gives a little family history. Apparently Tsuto hasn’t been seen in town for several years, as he caused a big upset at the funeral of his mother, accusing Lonjiku Kaijitsu of having pushed her off a cliff. Bethana notes with big eyes that Tsuto was a half-elf, but neither of Ameiko’s parents were elves. Lonjiku Kaijutsu never recognized Tsuto as his own child; instead, Tsuto was raised in the Turadarok Academy (where most Sandpoint orphans are raised).

At the Glassworks
Our Heroes investigate the Glassworks, trying to keep a low profile. The window curtains are all drawn, but there is smoke coming from the chimneys, so presumably the glassworks furnace is working. They fetch a ladder and send Aeryc up onto the roof. Through a large skylight, Aeryc spies a grisly sight: many bodies, and bits of bodies, in the main workshop chamber. The mad chattering and gigling of goblins can be heard. Several goblins inside smash glass and play with the bodies, taking beakers of molten glass and pouring them over one in particular (that is, at this distance, unrecognizable). Aeryc, high on goblin-rage, tries to stamp through the glass to rain arrows down on them. The goblins are alerted: some fire arrows back and shatter the skylight.

In the ensuring fight, Aeryc shoots one goblin down, but then falls, having been hit with several arrows and burned with globs of molten glass. The rest of Our Heroes bust in through a window to join the fight.

Aeryc (686xp + 435xp) = 1121xp
Kadar (636xp + 435xp) = 1071xp
Quilmop (686xp + 435xp) = 1121xp
Ryutaro (686xp + 415xp) = 1101xp

Session 3 - Heroes of the Swallowtail Festival
Friday May 6th 2016

Game Time: from dusk Sunday 22nd Rova 4707 AR (day of Autumn Equinox, equivalent of late September) to afternoon Moonday 23rd Rova 4707 AR.

Quick Summary
Our Heroes rescued Aldern Foxglove from more goblins and played a decisive role in running the nasty creatures out of town. Sandpoint locals were very grateful in various ways.

Later that night, Sheriff Belor Hemlock asked for help investigating strange noises coming from a crypt in the Sandpoint Boneyard. Our Heroes destroyed the vile undead creatures within, and discovered that several goblins and a humanoid had snuck into the Boneyard during the raid, and carried off a body.

The next day, most of Our Heroes tracked the goblin party to a goblin den several miles northeast along the coast in a dense thicket of brambles.

Currently Our Heroes have reconvened in town, after buying, selling and identifying gear.

Aftermath of the Raid
Father Abstalar Zantus rushed out to help Our Heroes, healing Aeryc Halftorn and dragging the injured Bjorn Borg into the Cathedral for safety.

Cries for help were heard from the north. Our Heroes ran up to find goblins menacing Aldern Foxglove, having just killed his dog. A fight ensued, during which many goblins were splattered and cut down and shot full of arrows. Claws with Lightning chased a disgusting goblin dog into the woods north of town and got a mouthful of grossly irritating dander for his trouble.

Aldern Foxglove was incredibly grateful, and seemed to have a special crush on Kadar. He invited Our Heroes to meet him at The Rusty Dragon later.

The tide turned against the goblins. Townsfolk re-emerged from their homes, many armed and some armored, and fought against the raiders. Goblins started fleeing, but with the north gate blocked by Our Heroes, many fled over the cliff at Junker’s Edge, preferring to leap to near-certain death rather than be cut down by the “longshanks”.

Townsfolk then began the grim duty of cleaning up. Several citizens had been killed by goblins. Some captured goblins were marched off to the garrison, likely to be executed later. Sheriff Belor Hemlock went around the town with squads of town guards, checking barrels and piles of hay for hidden goblins, as the little blighters are sneaky and vicious, and it is likely a few of them will be found in odd places in the coming days.

Aeryic helped with the roving patrols, and noticed the stable master he had tried to cheat was out cutting off goblin ears as trophies. Who knew they had something in common?

Quilmop was thanked by a farmer for saving his prize cow. He has been promised cheese and dairy whenever the farmer is at market.

Ryutaro was thanked by the mother of the mean-looking slingshot wielding boy – quite a turnaround from her former scolding.

Ameiko Kaijitsu came round to thank Our Heroes and offered them free lodging for a week at The Rusty Dragon.

At the Rusty Dragon
Our Heroes were met with a hero’s welcome at the Rusty Dragon. Aldern Foxglove kept trying to get chummy with Kadar, to no avail. Ameiko Kaijitsu brought excellent tea for Ryutaro Ishida, with a few words of thanks in Tien, which seemed to make a favorable impression. Prostitutes from The Pixie’s Kitten burst in to fuss over Pete, spiriting him off for a bath, and dropping a word in Quilmop‘s ear that he should come and visit their brothel sometime. Aeryc Halftorn ate and drank and generally had a good time. Our Heroes swapped a few stories of the road, and learned of Kadar’s ill feeling towards goblins and their cruelty to animals.

Just as Kadar was going out to find a quiet place to commune with the Sky Mother, Sheriff Belor Hemlock turned up with a nosy looking elderly gentleman in tow. The gentleman, having seen Kadar up on the Old Light before, accused Kadar of being in league with the goblin raiders as their lookout. Hemlock was not impressed with the accusation, and thanked Our Heroes for their efforts.

Soon after, Father Abstalar Zantus turned up to report that the crypt in the Sandpoint Boneyard that is supposed to hold bodies of dead priests has one of it’s stone doors slightly ajar, and a scrabbling noise can be heard from within. Hemlock asked Our Heroes for help.

At the Boneyard
Our Heroes were surprised by a deformed man named Naffer Vosk in the Boneyard, who was hiding behind one of the gravestones, and who pointed the way to the crypt. The Sheriff warned him off, but didn’t seem bothered by his presence.

At the crypt, Aeryc Halftorn studied the tracks of many creatures, and worked out that a group of abotu six goblins and a medium sized humanoid (probably male) had used a ladder to climb the wall, had then gone into the crypt, and then had used the ladder to climb back again.

Our Heroes threw open the stone crypt doors to be surprised by skeletons. A wolf skeleton tore at Ryutaro, but otherwise Our Heroes made short work of them. Even Sheriff Hemlock struck a blow, and he seemed to enjoy fighting with Our Heroes. Quilmop learned that his colorful magic doesn’t work on skeletons, perhaps because they have no eyes or brains.

Inside the crypt was bare, except for a strange, faintly magic, black robe with many missing patches, and an open sarcophagus where the body of the former priest Ezakien Tobyn used to be. The Sheriff was unnerved by this grave-robbing, and asked Our Heroes to keep it quiet. Father Zantus and Quilmop together worked out that the robe was a Robe of Bones – a necromantic magic item whose patches could be ripped off and thrown down to create undead creatures. Quilmop fixed up the robe and made a small bandana out of it for Pete.

The Next Day
In the morning, Our Heroes were greeted by spread of pastries provided for free by the local baker as thanks for saving lives the previous day. Aldern Foxglove tried unsuccessfully to persuade Kadar and his friends to go on a boar hunt. Quilmop tried to work out if Aldern found the necromantic robe familiar, but to no avail. Eventually Aldern got the message, and left Our Heroes a pouch full of 50gp as thanks for saving his life.

All of Our Heroes except Quilmop left town to track the grave-robbers. Together they worked out that the humanoid only accompanied the goblins for a little way before diverging from their path and heading back into town through the North Gate. Our Heroes followed the goblin tracks through the woods and along the coast until they came to a goblin den hidden in a dense thicket of thistles and brambles. There were many tracks of goblins and goblin dogs nearby, so Our Heroes noted the location and returned to town.

Meanwhile Quilmop worked Sandpoint for coin and influence. He met the mayor, Kendra Deverin and suggested that payment for heroic services was in order. He found his impresario employer Cyrdak Drokkus and managed to get some coin out of him to hire extras for the upcoming play. He found the local orphanage, The Turandarok Academy, and hired two urchins for the play, and a third to follow Aldern Foxglove about.

Our Heroes informed Sheriff Belor Hemlock of the news about the goblin den. He asked them to wait before acting, as he had a contact who knew about goblins in the area, and she could provide valuable advice. Our Heroes sold some of the gear they had gathered after the goblin raid. Kadar obtained a harness from the local tanner, Larz Rovanky, and inquired about stitching goblin armor into barding for Claws with Lightning. Quilmop found a local alchemist’s store, The Pillbug’s Pantry, and identified the potion they had found as a potion of Cure Light Wounds.

Cinder came by the Rusty Dragon to tell Aeryc Halftorn that the owner of The White Deer, the other inn in town, probably had information about the nobles who robbed him.

It is the late afternoon.

Aeryic (320xp + 366xp) = 686xp
Kadar (270xp + 366xp) = 636xp
Quilmop (320xp + 366xp) = 686xp
Ryutaro (320xp + 366xp) = 686xp

Session 2 - Goblin Raid! (Part One)

Game Time: from midday 22nd Rova 4707 AR (day of Autumn Equinox, equivalent of late September) to dusk the same day.

Quick Summary
Most of Our Heroes participated in the Swallowtail Festival in one way or another. Then the festival was interrupted by a goblin raid.

After fighting many goblins, Bjorn fell unconscious. Our Heroes are currently in the square in front of Sandpoint Cathedral and have just heard a cry for help coming from the north.

The Festival was a wholesome friendly affair, with free food and drink, a butter sculpture, bladder cake, prize cows and so on.

Bjorn earned some coin singing old favorites at the festival.
Quilmop played all the games, and used his magic wiles to cause trouble for Cinder, making the folk believe she was cheating with her cups game.
Ryutaro demonstrated his martial prowess to a mean-looking kid with a slingshot, and was told off by the kid’s mom.
Aeryic ate and drank and generally had a good time.

Kadar and Claws with Lightning spent time down on the beach, far from the crowd, watching the sunset, and roasting up some fish.

Kendra Deverin, mayor of Sandpoint, made a short welcoming speech and indicated that this was a good time for the everyone to put the Late Unpleasantness behind them.

Belor Hemlock, sheriff of Sandpoint, dourly warned everyone about letting kids near the bonfire, because they “didn’t want a repeat of last year”.

Lonjiku Kaijitsu was supposed to give a speech but didn’t show up. He had donated a pair of mirrors to hand at the entrances to town, with a sign below saying “Take a moment to see yourself as we see you.”

Cyrdak Drokkus made some lewd jokes and put in a plug for his show The Harpy Queen, starring the Magnimaran diva Alishanda.

Father Abstalar explained how the festival is called the Swallowtail Festival in honor of Desna, who turned a faithful friend into a beautiful butterfly. Many swallowtail butterflies were released and flew all over town, with kids chasing them.

At dusk, Father Abstalar caught everyone’s attention by throwing a thunderstone down. Just as he gestured towards the Cathedral, and presumably was about to start the dedication speech, goblins attacked the town, singing a disturbingly catchy warsong.

Our Heroes fought two groups of goblins whilst the townsfolk scattered. Quilmop knocked out most of the first wave of goblins with colorful magic, and then he and Pete finished the job with grim acid and sharp, pointy teeth. Ryutaro decapitated several goblins with his katana, whilst Aeryic shot them full of arrows, and Bjorn slashed at them. Only one local was injured. Bjorn was quite injured in the fight, being burned by flaming oil, and blown up by a ill-thought fireworks charge by a mad goblin pyro. Bjorn passed out just as he struck down the goblin warchanter who had been egging on his fellow miscreants.

Meanwhile, Kadar and Claws with Lightning ran up to the square following the sounds of commotion. On the way they dispatched two goblins themselves – it seems the goblins were raiding from many directions.

Aeryic (0xp + 320xp = 320xp
Bjorn (0xp + 320xp) = 320xp
Kadar (0xp + 270xp) = 270xp
Quilmop (0xp + 320xp) = 320 xp
Ryutaro (0xp + 320xp) = 320xp

Session 1 - Our Heroes Meet
Sat Apr 2 2016

Game Time: from evening of 21st Rova 4707 AR to just before midday 22nd Rova 4707 AR (day of Autumn Equinox, equivalent of late September)

Quick Summary
Our Heroes met on the coast road to Sandpoint, learned a little bit about each other, and travelled into town.

They are about to reconvene for the opening of the Swallowtail Festival at noon.

Bjorn bargained for a map of Sandpoint from a young woman named Cinder, and heard the tale of the Sandpoint Fire, often referred to by locals as part of the “Late Unpleasantness”.

Quilmop talked his way into a special effects and stage managing gig at the Sandpoint Theater, by lying to Cyrdrak Drokkus, about what exactly was burned down when and by whom etc.

Kadar and Claws with Lightning had a hard time in the big city and freaked out a bit. They have been noted and given warnings by at least two local town guards. They have also been noted and given the stink-eye by an elderly man with spectacles who was hanging out up at the Old Light.

Ryutaro dropped some coin at a local tavern called the Hagfish and seemed to get on good terms with the bartender Jargie, who has promised to keep an eye out for anyone who fits the description of Ryutaro’s brother’s killer.

Aeryic promised money to Cinder in exchange for information about the nobles who cheated him, and tried to threaten the local stable master into lowering prices so Aeryic could “buy back” his “stolen horse”. It didn’t go too well.
